The Vapour collection facility

Storage tanks selected for vapour emission control are indirectly coupled to the common header/vapour collection facility.

• Ship to shore transfer and tank breathing/venting --Vapours released at the pressure vents during ship to shore transfer operations, and normal tank breathing, are drawn continuously from the vents and conveyed to the emission control plant.
 
• Road tanker, Rail car, Drum filling --Vapours displaced from the filling of road tankers, rail cars and drums, are also captured and conveyed to the emission control plant.
 
• Shore to ship transfer --The vapour collection facility enables displaced vapour to enter the collection facility. Displaced vapours are conveyed through a liquid/vapour separator to the emission control plant.
 
• Tank cleaning --To assist in the tank cleaning process, the system also enables vapours to be stripped from empty tanks. Vapour laden air is drawn from the storage tank, through a liquid/vapour separator, to the emission control plant.
