Single or Multiple VEC Systems

The selection and application of the appropriate technology applied will greatly depend on whether or not the focus is on one single product or the need to simultaneously address a multitude of chemcial vapors. It is generally more cost-effective to consider applying a VEC system with a capacity to simultaneously address a variety of chemical vapours, as opposed to installing many individual dedicated systems over a period of time. The installation of a series of dedicated VEC units will ultimately impact on both the operating economies and the storage flexibity of the terminal.

Single Product Application

Where the need is to simultaneouly address a variety of chemical vapours, preference is usually given to passive technology, in particular, adsorption technology. This technology, when applied in combination with an appropriately engineered vapour collection facility, is readily able to:-

Adsorption technology is also more flexible and forgiving in the event of a major upset created by inadvertent operations or lack of attention by operators.
